Using Flex Fuel Blending

Using Flex Fuel Blending

Details about the Flex Fuel Blending feature can be found in the main article: https://mgflasher.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MGFLASHER/pages/664633516

Regardless if a sensor is installed or not, you can override the ethanol content using: https://mgflasher.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MGFLASHER/pages/664698998

If no sensor is installed, ensure you properly indicate how much ethanol content is in your tank by adjusting the app settings, or overriding the setting On-The-Fly with CCM: https://mgflasher.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MGFLASHER/pages/664698998

You can confirm Flex Fuel Blending is active by monitoring the dedicated parameter in the logger.

Flex Fuel Blending is performed automatically once enabled. You can enable it with Custom Code v7.3 and newer:

  1. Go to the flashing Custom Options,

  2. Enable the Ethanol feature,

  3. Enter the Ethanol sub-menu by pressing “Edit”,

  4. Enable the Flex Fuel Blending option,

  5. Configure ethanol content info:

    1. Indicate if you have an ethanol sensor, and select which model is installed, OR

    2. If a sensor is not installed, set the ethanol content for each slot manually

  6. Proceed to flash

Once you’ve flashed, the DME will automatically read the E% sensor and adjust tuning parameters according to the Flex Fuel tune selected (custom or OTS). If no sensor is installed, the DME will use the slot specified override value (indicated in-app) to adjust the tune.
